The popular Wolf Pen Gap ATV Recreation area provides 41 miles of signed trail, specially designed for ATV and motorcycle use, as well as mountain biking. Located only 11 miles from the Sun Country Inn.

Hiking and Mountain Biking Trails

A short 3 mile drive will provide you access to the Earthquake Ridge Hiking/Mountain Biking Trails. Located on the Talimena Scenic Drive, this popular trail provides easy to challenging trails for the hiker and biker. 6 miles of trail available providing scenic views of Mena, Arkansas.  Also nearby is the Ouachita Trail.

Horse Back Riding

Equestrian Trails are available at the Highway 8 Equestrian Trails, Only 9 miles from the Sun Country Inn, or at the nearby Mill Creek Recreation Area.

Canoeing & Kayaking and Water Craft

River Floating and paddling adventures await you.  The Mountain Fork River provides floating adventures with views of river bluffs and lots of wildlife.  The surrounding lakes provide excellent Sailing opportunities.

Hunting

Year-round hunting is available in the Ouachita National Forest. White Tail Deer, Wild Turkey, Squirrel, and Bear are some of the wild game available in the Ouachita National Forest. Visit the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for seasons, licenses, and regulations.

Fishing

Fishing on the Ouachita River, Lake Wilhelmina, and on the many creeks and ponds within the Ouachita National Forest will reward you with a catch of Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Blue gill, and more.  Visit the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for seasons, licenses, and regulations.

Rock Climbing
